Meet our Team!

Veterinarian / Owner

Dr. Burr graduated vet school and began working here in 2010.  He worked as a Veterinary Technician for 11 years prior to attending Vet School at Michigan State University.  Dr. Burr has one Corgie dog, named "Tot", and a Shih Tzu named "Kevin".  He purchased the veterinary clinic from Dr. Denney in November of 2020.

Part Time Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Heikes has worked here on and off for over 15 years.  She recently retired from her full time teaching position to work for us part time on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Dr. Heikes has taught veterinary science and horticulture at Vicksburg High School and was part of the FFA program.

 Hospital Manager

Wendy has worked here since 1997.  She attended KVCC and Glen Oaks University focusing on business, bookkeeping and accounting, and is currently taking veterinary practice management courses.   She earned her CVOM in 2025.   She keeps busy, crafting, gardening, and raising Monarch butterflies, hunting, and spending time up north.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

 Cassie is one our lead licensed veterinary technician (LVT) who started here in 2016 and graduated from The MSU Veterinary Technology Program. In her spare time she enjoys working with and showing mini horses in both riding and driving disciplines.

Office Clerk/Receptionist

 Hannah worked here back in 2018 as a vet assistant and receptionist until 2021.  She worked in daycare for a couple years, and spent a year overseas in Slovenia.  She is now back as  an office assistant and receptionist. 

Veterinary Assistant

 Seth joined us in August of 2024 as a veterinary assistant.  He will soon be applying to colleges to become a veterinarian! 

Receptionist

 Ashlea joined our team on May 21, 2026 and has previously worked at an animal emergency hospital.  She is excited to meet everyone!
